Patterns to spot
- Monday is the Moon's day in many European languages: lunes, lundi, lunedì, Montag, maandag and English Monday.
- Portuguese numbers its weekdays: segunda-feira (Monday) is literally the “second day”, counting from Sunday.
- Mandarin numbers them too: 星期一 (xīngqīyī), Monday, is literally “week one”.
